The Hot Fox Studio is the long time dream of husband and wife team Melissa and Scott Devenney. With a combined two decades experience in anatomy, movement, yoga and fitness between us, we have always wanted to open a space to help people improve their quality of life through movement. We look forward to adding other teachers and inviting guest teachers as well in the future who share our philosophy, so look for future updates!

Yoga
I attended my first 26&2 Original Hot Yoga class in Westborough, Massachusetts back in 2011 and found it one of the most challenging things I had ever done during the class itself. Halfway through, I thought there was no way I'd do a second class, but after I felt so incredible that I knew I'd come back. Previous to yoga, I had struggled with depression, body image, chronic back pain and knee issues, but through regular practice, I found peace and comfort in both my mind and body. After six months of daily practice, I knew I wanted to teach yoga for the rest of my life.
I attended my first 500 hour training in LA in Spring of 2013 and started teaching full time directly after in the studio where I started my practice. From that point on, I continued to learn as much as I could about the 26&2 sequence from senior teachers, seminars and most of all from my students. I started exploring other styles of yoga after that, completing a Yin training in 2018 and currently exploring Hatha Flow, as I find the best way to be a good teacher is to be a good student.
Over the past decade, I have seen the impact of yoga practice on so many students, improving mental health, physical health, helping to heal injuries and relieve pain. I am so grateful to be able to share these practices with the community and see the impact.

Movement
It has always been my dream to open my own movement space where I can share my passion of training movement to improve the lives of as many people as I can.
I have dedicated the past fourteen years of my life to the study of anatomy, movement, pain science and exercise, starting with my BSc Honours in Physiology and Sports Science at Glasgow University. After graduating and beginning my work as a PT, I discovered that textbook style training never yields the best results. I continued my studied with Faster Health and Fitness where I am now a course director and movement educator, meaning I train and mentor other trainers on how to improve in their careers as well. Even with so many years in the industry, I am still always seeking new education on ways to improve what I can offer my clients.
I have been working actively as a PT for over a decade, and have an absolute passion for helping my clients improve their lives through goal oriented training sessions. I also specialise in pain management through movement based solutions, learning much of this aspect of my career while in an osteopath/physiotherapist clinic for several years. If you suffer from chronic pain or recurring injury that prevents you from moving the way you would like, a few training sessions with me may give you marked improvement quickly by teaching the body new ways to move. In my career, I have been so lucky to be able to help hundreds of people move better, achieve fitness goals and resolve chronic pain/injuries. Hopefully I’ll see you in class soon and please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything in particular that you need help with.
